Kentucky Derby 145 Field is Set

5/1 8PM UPDATE: Following the scratch of Omaha Beach, Bodexpress will draw into the field and break from post position 20.

All horses outside of Omaha Beach, post positions 13 through 20, will move over one position in the starting gate.

Omaha Beach will not run in Saturday's Kentucky Derby due to an entrapped epiglottis, which is a throat condition.

ORIGINAL STORY: The field is set for Kentucky Derby 145.

The morning line favorite is Omaha Beach, trained by Richard Mandella with two-time Derby winner Mike Smith aboard.

Omaha Beach opens with 4-1 odds with Bob Baffert's Game Winner close behind as the second choice at 5-1. The two other Baffert runners, Improbable and Roadster are the co-third choice at 6-1.

Roadster will have to overcome the superstition of being in gate 17, the only gate that hasn't produced a Derby winner.

War of Will will start from the one slot while Country House will make the long trip from gate 20.
