JCPS Won't Change COVID Quarantine Guidelines

(Louisville, KY) - Jefferson County Public Schools isn't relaxing its COVID quarantine guidelines.

The Jefferson County Board of Education voted against a proposal Tuesday night to switch to guidelines approved by the CDC.

Schools with universal masking in place can cut quarantines from ten to five days and no contact tracing for those exposed at school is necessary.

Despite the guidance from medical professionals, some board members called the proposed changes "unnecessary" and "reckless."
