JCPS Seeing Chronic Absenteeism

(Louisville, KY) - Chronic absenteeism is a problem for Jefferson County Public Schools.

The issue was discussed during Tuesday night's Jefferson County Board of Education meeting.

JCPS Superintendent Dr. Marty Pollio said 30 percent of all students have missed at least 18 days so far this school year.

Chronic absenteeism is linked to lower test scores and graduation rates.
