LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The field is set for the 139th Kentucky Derby, and Orb has been made the early favorite to win Saturday's race.
Trained by Shug McGaughey, Orb drew the No. 16 post position with morning-line odds of 7-to-2. McGaughey is a Hall of Famer, but the 62-year-old trainer has yet to win the Derby.
The undefeated colt Verrazano is the second betting choice and will break from the No. 14 post. The colt is one of five Derby horses trained by Todd Pletcher.
Goldencents is the third choice and will start in the No. 8 post.
Black Onyx drew the least desirable post position -- No. 1 along the rail. Vyjack is on the far outside in the 20 post.
