HOW MUCH DID YOU ENJOY THE POLITICAL ADS DAY AND NIGHT? How about the robocalls? Now imagine going through the last weekend for the last two months and now you understand what it's like to live in a swing state. Let's all bow our heads in prayer that Kentucky never becomes a swing state. Amen.
I AM BREAKING MY OWN RULE By having US Senate candidate Richard Mourdock on today. Mostly because the ads being run against him are so nasty. He's on at 9:15.
GETTING THE YOUTH VOTE OUT...ON BOTH SIDES This morning at 9:35, I will welcome the heads of the UofL College Democrats and the Young Republicans in to chat for a bit about what they've been up to this election season and how excited the kids are about voting today.
BLUEGRASS MONDAY MOVES TO TODAY I wanted to spend the day yesterday on the school board elections (HAMING, HADDAWAY AND ROBERTSON, hint hint) so we moved Jim Waters from the Bluegrass Institute to today. Have you given the gift of freedom yet? I'll explain later.
JON ACKERSON IS A BITTER ANGRY LOSER When Marilyn Parker ran against incumbent (alleged) Republican in the primary for MetroCouncil she did so because she said Jon Ackerson was not a conservative and he regularly caucused with the Democrats. Seems she was right, as Mr. Ackerson has been campaigning for Democrats all over the city and sent out a robocall last night as the "former head of the Republican Party" endorsing Democrat candidates. Mr. Ackerson, you are simply proving Marilyn Parker was 100% right about you. And making yourself look like an angry bitter loser desperate to remain politically relevant as well.
COULD JONES BE RUNNING TO PROTECT HIS MONEY? I find it funny when people assume David Jones Jr's motives for running for school board are pure because he's RICH. He already HAS money, why would he need more? Except rich people are rich because they never stop figuring out ways to make more money. They are rich because they see opportunities and figure out how to make money on them. And if they don't see opportunities, they create them. Like in Oldham county. Why do people move to Oldham county? For the lousy commute? Dearth of decent restaurants? No, they move there for neighborhood schools. And if Jefferson county went back to neighborhood schools, what would that do for developers sitting on large swaths of land in Oldham county? Education Voodoo has a pretty damn good theory.
