ENOUGH CATERWAULING ABOUT THE ELECTION Our team lost. So now we will be subject to endless analysis and speculation about which gaffe, what unresponded to attack ad, what failure to connect lead to the defeat of Mitt Romney. I say balderdash. Barack Obama won because conservatives did not make a compelling enough argument for freedom. For liberty. For a fight against tyranny. We can blame the folks who we think voted for a false sense of security over true freedom, but is it fair to blame people who truly don't understand the difference? Can we blame people who simply haven't done the necessary work to look at history and see how these policies have brought down empire after empire? No. We have to blame ourselves. We have to blame us for not being more vocal about the benefits and rewards of hard work. We have to blame ourselves for not doing more to help those without mentors experience the joys and stresses of risk and return. We aren't doing enough to make sure our children and the children of our friends and neighbors understand that freedom isn't just a nifty word to be tossed around, it is a concept that should be nurtured and cultivated, and above all, protected. We need to educate the Che shirt wearing hipster of the culture of violence and murder the "revolutionary" actually fostered. We must never stop fighting. We must not abrogate our responsibility to be the leaders fighting the encroachment of government in every aspect of our lives. We must hold our leaders accountable and vote them out of office when they do otherwise. We can't be angry with those who voted for their own personal interests. We must be sad they don't understand the personal interests they vote for now will ultimately be the instrument of their own servitude. We must continue to help people see the need and find the will to fight for freedom. The good news is, there is a good chance that under this President, they will quickly be awakened to just that. Don't squander this chance with anger. Spread the love!
CHANGING THE PREMISE THAT THE GOP IS RACIST This blog caught my eye yesterday amongst all the blame game columns trying to figure out why Mitt Romney lost. I like it's attitude, especially the part about taking back the language. Please read it and share it with your pals.
WHAT, MORGAN FREEMAN WASN'T AVAILABLE? I find it hilarious that John Yarmuth says Ashley Judd could run for the US Senate and it would be a premier matchup. Truthfully, this is a perfect example of just how shallow the thinking on the Democrat side of the aisle is. This is almost as shallow as running the incompetent Richie Farmer for Lt. Governor because he was a basketball star. And does anyone else remember when Ashley Judd said it is "unconscionable to breed" because there were so many starving children in the world? I'm sure that will play well in Paducah.
LET'S TEACH KIDS SUCCESS IS TO BE PUNISHED Greater Clark County Schools has removed James Sexton as principal from Jeffersonville High School. He has helped begin a long overdue turnover and the Superintendent doesn't like his management style so he's out. Anyone have more details they'd like to share?
BARBARA SHANKLIN NEVER DISAPPOINTS. Like a mob boss on trial for whacking a guy, Barbar Shanklin took the 5th yesterday before she was ordered out of the ethics hearing by her melodramatic attorney. I could not make this up.
CONGRESSMAN BRETT GUTHRIE AT 9:30 He won and I'll get his take on the current tone of reconciliation coming out of DC.
