I KNOW I'VE BEEN PUTTING ON THE BRAVE FACE But I've been bummed about the election too. I was actually NOT looking forward to work today (which nearly NEVER happens, btw) and then I got in my car and turned it on and BAM! Christmas music on GENX! Our sister station GenX 100.5 is one of the few stations I listen to other than my own, and they flipped to GenXmas this morning. Yes, I am one of those who can't get enough Christmas music. But it also gave me a sense of normalcy again. Something to look forward to. I am happy today. Bing Crosby Christmas songs can refresh the soul!
SHE TOOK WHAT'S LEFT OF HER MARBLES AND WENT HOME The Barbara Shanklin shenanigans continue. She had no clue a her grandson/staffmember was in jail and still getting paid. Sure she answered those questions. But when grants came up, Barbara and her attorney got up and left. Can we just cut to the chase and ask her to leave permanently?
TAKE THAT, RIVER FIELDS! A federal judge refused to stop work on the bridges project based on some stupid bat being endangered or some such crap. Strike one for River Fields. Unfortunately, the rich people invested in making sure the rest of us are screwed by not having an East End bridge have lots of money to keep throwing at these lawsuits.
TAX OLD PEOPLE AND RETIREES? The tax reform commission is trying to find more ways to take our money and they've lofted the idea of taxing Social Security and lowering the tax shelter on pension funds down to 15k. I'm sure this is going to go over well. Expect busloads of old people at the capitol in 3...2...1...
