THE CARD NATION IS TIRED, BUT VERY, VERY HAPPY! I can't tell you how happy I am about last night's game. THANK YOU, Cardinals for showing UF and the rest of the pompous SEC that you aren't scared of anybody. What a GREAT GAME!!! Woooooooo!
CONGRESSMAN BRETT GUTHRIE ON AT 9:30. He voted no on the crap sandwich fiscal deal.
SENATOR MCCONNELL'S CHIEF OF STAFF ON AT 10 He wants to talk about why the fiscal deal is not a crap sandwich.
PASS THE PORK, PLEASE Governor Chris Christie is spittin' mad because the House didn't bring up the Sandy Aid bill. Two things to know about this bill. It is packed with pork that has nothing to do with Sandy relief. And the money wouldn't start to flow until 2014. Hardly an emergency relief package.
FROM ALGORE TO ALJAZEERA Current TV has been an epic fail since it's inception six years ago by Al Gore. It was going to change journalism forever, remember? The latest numbers from Nielson show that some of Current's prime time programming draws only 42,000 people. I have more ears listening to me at any time on any given day. So Current has been up for sale. Al Jazeera just bought it. Insert your own joke, the comedy is too easy on this one. O course, Algore is laughing all the way to bank. Why sell now? He was trying to avoid the Democrat tax increases in the fiscal cliff. And there's more! Glenn Beck tried to buy Current but was turned down because they wanted to sell the network to someone "aligned with our point of view". I can't make this up. Check it here.
CREATIVE DESTRUCTION, CABLE EDITION How many times have you flipped through your channels only to come back to the same handful of channels? Well Intel is working on a model of delivery that will allow you to choose only the channels you want. On first blush, I love this. But then I worry about that one time when Lifetime has something I want to watch.
RAM IT THROUGH As the GOP continues to fight over the crap fiscal cliff deal, and another fight they will probably lose looms on the horizon over the debt ceiling, the President is gearing up to push through gun control and immigration reform. I think his strategy is just to bring the wood so hard and so often that the GOP will feel as if it has to choose it's battles and cave on enough to get him what he wants. Which apparently is an unarmed, uneducated, welfare dependent class of migrant voters. And I don't have a lot of confidence that he's not right.
