NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFIED TEACHERS SHOULD BE PROUD It is an extremely rigorous process that several of my friends have gone through.  But it seems the point of this article is kvetch about the lack of funding so teachers don't have to pay for it themselves.  Hey JCTA, if you are so committed to helping teachers be better, why don't YOU help pay for it?  And considering that the initial $2,600 investment turns into an extra $2,000 per YEAR for ten years, I'm finding it hard to worry about that aspect of the program.

HELPING TEEN RECOVER FROM THEIR OWN STUPIDITY Kids do dumb things.  It's a fact.  A new diversionary program in Jefferson County allows the kids to not only learn exactly the impact their stupidity had on the victims, but also use the experience as a life lesson that will hopefully help them move forward.

SHOULD YOU BE ABLE TO GROW VEGETABLES IN YOUR FRONT YARD? One Orlando couple is facing fines of $500 a day because they refuse to uproot their front yard garden.  I used to live in this neighborhood, which looks like it could be in St. Matthews.  How would you feel if your neighbor dug up his lawn and planted rows of veggies?
