THIS HAS BEEN A HECK OF A WEEK And we should have lots of stuff to talk about. So bring it, y'all.
PROTESTING FOR PENSIONS State workers and retirees went to Frankfort to demand their pensions be honored. What I find interesting is the notion that current workers and retirees agree (according to Damon Thayer) that new workers need a different, more affordable system. Isn't that a tacit admission that they know they have a ridiculously sweet, unaffordable deal? Just a thought.
IF WE CAN SAVE ONE CHILD, LIMITING SPEECH WOULD BE WORTH IT Kids today face methods of bullying we couldn't imagine as kids. The latest is Instagram, the photo sharing site kids today use to increase their overinflated sense of self. One group of jerk kids set up an instagram account for the sole purpose of terrorizing a group of seven students. I think it's time to do SOMETHING before one of these kids is driven to suicide, as has happened in the past. Isn't limiting free speech worth if we could save one life?
(The preceding statement, although bases on an actual news story, is a mockery of Congressman John Yarmuth's argument about undermining the 2nd Amendment)
ANOTHER THING THAT'S BUSH'S FAULT The flu outbreak could further slow the economy. Which would be fine if our recovery wasn't so crappy. And did you get a flu shot? It may not do anything for you.
WHAT DID THEY SPEND THE STIMULUS ON? I'd forgotten how well our government pissed away the stimulus money. Check this list to make your head explode.
