GOODBYE BOURBON BALL FRENCH TOAST When I came here to interview for this job, my now boss took me to Lynn's Paradise cafe for lunch. And for someone who didn't know anything about Louisville then and does not, that one restaurant captured a lot of the quirkiness that I love about this city. Certainly it is not alone in that, but when we had out of town guests, that's where we took all of them. Lynn's will be missed. It's always sad when a business abruptly closes that like too. It's like we never got to say goodbye, like I did to Stan's Fish Sandwich. Which I still miss, by the way.

LETTING THE NEXT CRISIS BUILD We are about to be treated to fingerpointing and likely more name calling as we approach the debt ceiling in about six weeks. Why? Because neither Republicans or Democrats are doing a damn thing about it. And we're supposed to be nervous and scared as the markets react negatively and people demagogue about defaulting on debt, etc, etc, etc. I'm so tired of it. Aren't you?

ANOTHER MANDY FAVORITE BITES THE DUST I love Jackie Chan movies. Even the ones with Chris Tucker. But I am not going to pay to see another Jackie Chan movie, as I'm sure he wouldn't want any of my corrupt American dollars. Seriously, actors, shut your pie holes. I'm running out of people to watch. Thank goodness for Tom Selleck.
SHOULD THE NEWSPAPER BE HELD RESPONSIBLE? Remember that left wing rag who published the addresses of gun owners in New York? Well there has been a burglary at one of those homes and the thieves tried to steal an elderly man's gun safe. They failed, luckily. If I were this man, I'd sue the snot out of this paper. Just for fun.
