NOT BECAUSE PRESIDENT OBAMA IS CELEBRATING HIS INAUGURATION I turned on Morning Joe this morning and the panelists of left wing Obama worshippers are actually saying things like "I hope he uses the word "we" more than "I"" and actually discussing the President's comments to his daughter right after the swearing in which were "I did it".  They all seem to recognize...finally...that he has a bit of an ego problem.  Seriously, the world is upside down right now. 

WELL THIS IS A MESS The disastrous rescue attempt of hostages in Algeria turned into a real disaster, with at least 81 dead and about two dozen missing.  It is odd to me that we haven't heard anything about this.  I had to dig to find out that one American is among the confirmed dead.  Here's hoping this isn't the next front on the war on terror.  And isn't it odd that wherever there is mayhem and death in the world, there seems to be Muslims trying to create an Islamic paradise?  Their idea of paradise is much different than mine.

SHE'S TAKING A SERIOUS LOOK Senator Ashley Judd?  The horror.  What I love the most about this article about Ashley Judd running against Mitch McConnell is the comment by John Yarmuth. 

"And I'm convinced she has a passion for service to Kentucky, and I know she thinks she has some progressive ideas for moving Kentucky forward,"

Then why not suggest she run for Governor?  Boy that would upset the Democrat machine here, wouldn't it?  And it obviously shows that our esteemed Congressman doesn't have a clear grasp of the role of a US Senator.  It is not to move Kentucky forward.  It is to represent Kentucky's interests in the greater United States. 

SHOULD PAID SICK TIME BE MANDATORY? This article shows exactly how businesses who can't afford to do so could be burdened with costs they can't afford.  But I do find the example they use kind of interesting.  An independent contractor who doesn't have paid sick leave.  But who also gets to set her own schedule I'm guessing.  You know what's never discussed in these stories?  How many sick days business OWNERS get. 

THE HAR BOWL SHOULD BE GOOD Thank goodness there is another story for the Super Bowl other than the insufferable Ray Lewis.  But I want to know how many times they are going to show the Harbaugh parents during the game.  I'm guessing there will be a camera on them the entire game.  I'd love to know exactly how one family produces two such succesful coaches.  Has there been a duo like this in recent history? 

IN HONOR OF MLK DAY Star Parker, who is likely NOT an authentic black person because she is conservative, weighs in on whether Dr. King and his religious ilk would be welcome at today's Inaugural festivities.  And she makes a very good point about a party who unvited God to it's Convention. 

RAND PAUL TALKING EVOLUTION No, not THAT evolution, the evolution of the GOP.  I'm not sure, but when he says we need more libertarian Republicans, I think he's talking about things like gay marriage and other social issues.  I do agree that having a strong military but keeping our noses out of stuff where it doesn't belong sounds good...but in a shrinking world, is it practical?  We shall discuss.

I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT Only in Washington DC can the "threat" of actually doing your job be made to seem like some winning political statement.
