HEMP IS GAINING STEAM IN KENTUCKY As other states are legalizing the hard stuff, Kentucky is trying to position itself to grow hemp as a cash crop.  Today, State Senator Paul Hornback will join me to discuss the progress and what may or may not happen here. Great info on hemp production here.

DOES HAVING A GAY SCOUT LEADER BOTHER YOU? The Boy Scouts of America are likely going to make a change to the rules to allow local scout troops to set their own policy about allowing gay leaders.  If you have scouting age children, would you be bothered by having a gay scout leader? As long as they could teach Q how to cook an egg in a paper bag like I did, I wouldn't care. 

I THOUGHT MEETING EVERY YEAR WOULD SOLVE THIS PROBLEM It seems our legislators can't get their work done in a timely fashion so we will be footing the bill for a special session on tax reform.  This is shameful.  And a complete break of the bill of goods sold to Kentuckians when the legislature went to meeting every year.  What a crock. 

NO ONE LIKES MITCH MCCONNELL? I'm always suspect of polls showing that NO one likes a politician, but I know a lot of people, including Republicans, who don't care for Senator McConnell.  But who is out there?  Who is going to challenge from the right who can beat a high profile Democrat in this state?  I'm serious.  Who?

HEY NEIGHBORS, NOW'S YOUR CHANCE This story about a house being vandalized makes me think "what an opportunity!"  I know that seems ridiculous, but imagine the message it would send the vandals and the neighborhood if everyone got together this Saturday and helped these homeowners clean this mess up. Then start a neighborhood watch to keep the delinquents away the 2nd time.  Moving people out of bad neighborhoods via Habitat for Humanity homes is a great idea, but if they don't know what makes a great neighborhood it's only a matter of time before the new neighborhood goes south.  A great neighborhood is made of great neighbors, by the way.  I'm just saying, now is the time to make this a great neighborhood. 

IF YOU HAVE TO KNOW NOW, THE ANSWER IS NO Immigration amnesty advocates want a rushed immigration bill.  So they can pass it before we find out what was in it.  This is pretty much the same proposal that got killed in 2008.  Let's hope it can be killed this year.  Although with this soft crop of Republicans who believe that amnesty=votes from the Latin community I'm not so sure.  I just wish someone would have the stones to propose increased border security for several years before a "path to citizenship" can even be discussed.  Paging Rand Paul, paging Rand Paul.

GOOD NEWS, EGGS ARE GOOD FOR YOU AGAIN! Not that I would ever give up my beloved eggs, but it's nice to know they are good to eat according to scientists who just a few years ago thought they were the devil.  And people wonder why I question scientists on global warming being our fault.  They can't even get eggs right.
