I THOUGHT WE COULD HELP THE LEGISLATURE By coming up with ways to raise money to shore up the pension fund.  I'm sure we can come up with something other than an illegal expansion of gambling.  And obviously the House needs help, as they have summarily ignored the suggestions of the pension reform board and essentially done nothing to fix the problem.

BOY YOU FARMERS MUST BE DUMB In a sneak attack on the hemp bill Rep. Tom McKee, who sat on the hemp board but didn't mention this little bit of strategery to anyone ON the hemp board until he filed it, says farmers need UK to tell them if hemp will grow in Kentucky.  That's right, the crop that was all OVER the Commonwealth until it was banned.  McKee is either trying to funnel money to UK or doesn't want the hemp bill to pass.  Why not let the market decide, gentlemen?  Not everyone thinks we need an arm of the government to tell us what will work and what won't. 

PICK UP YOUR POO, PEOPLE I currently don't own a dog, but for almost all of the past 23 years I did.  I have picked up probably hundreds of pounds of dog poo.  You know why?  BECAUSE I'M NOT AN INCONSIDERATE JERK. The people letting their dogs poop on the Big Four bridge are inconsiderate jerks. Here's the question: if you see someone letting their dog poop and not picking it up, do you say something? 

SHOULD A SCHOOL YEARBOOK HONOR UNWED PARENTS? I got an email a few days ago from a parent in Bullitt County whose daughter attends a high school there.  The yearbook class is preparing a page in the yearbook featuring the pregnant students and their baby daddies.  I am appalled.  I thought we might talk about this.  Another example of the celebration of bad decision making. 

STRAIGHT OUT OF CASTRO'S PLAYBOOK So the President is still trying to tell us that the sequester is going to ruin everything, but now he's upped the ante.  He's releasing illegal immigrants who are currently in jail awaiting hearing.  Just like Castro released criminals during the Mariel boatlift to come to America.  I sure hope none of these nice people hurt anyone after their release. 

WE'VE WON THE WAR...IF YOU IGNORE THOSE PESKY TALIBAN ATTACKS Many government types have been touting a 7% decrease in Taliban attacks in Afghanistan.  Except those numbers are wrong.  There has been NO reduction.  Probably because we won the war, right?  This is one of those times I hope I am totally wrong, but I am afraid Afghanistan reverts back to being a cesspool for terrorists by 2015.   

THERE ARE JOBS BEING CREATED And they are mostly in the low-tax, business friendly South, Texas specifically.  And read the whole story before you make a snarky comment about them being minimum wage jobs.  Cause they aren't.
