SORRY, NOT MUCH A BLOG POST THIS MORNING Had a few technical issues. Like I technically can't work with my eyes closed. Got up late. My bad.
ACADEMIC GENOCIDE Yesterday in the West End, over 250 people showed up for a meeting about education. Dr. Donna Hargens, Terry Holliday and several JCPS board members attended, as did MANY parents from the West End whose children are being failed by our grand social experiment. I'll talk to the Bluegrass Institute's Richard Innes about it today at 9:30, and he has some numbers that tell a much different story than the happy press release sent out by JCPS a couple of days ago. You especially want to watch this video of Terry Holliday explaining how the JCTA contract is impeding progress.
GROSS OVERSIMPLIFICATION OF THE CENTURY Please tell me he didn't just suggest that the Islam-Jew Conflict is the same as...no...he did. Head. Desk.
SO I GUESS HOMECOMING KING IS OUT We were unpopular in the Middle East at the end of the GWBush administration. But PrezBO was going to fix it, right? He did the Middle East apology tour at the beginning of his presidency. And now? They hate us. They really, really hate us.
OMG, PREMIUMS ARE GOING UP??? You're probably as surprised as I am that this is coming, but you MAY be surprised at how HIGH your premiums will go. DOUBLE? Not outside the realm of possibility. But before we go blaming the greedy insurance companies, please remember that profit is CAPPED under Obamacare. It's better to blame Sandra Fluke's "free" birth control as the example of the mandates driving up costs.
I'M SURE THIS WILL BE FINE. The Department of Homeland Security is giving travelers from Saudi Arabia "trusted traveler" status. Because NO one from Saudi Arabia would ever wish us harm. Except 15 of the 19 hijackers who perpetrated 9/11. I'm sure they were the only ones. Yeah, that's probably right.
WELL THEY ARE BOTH KINDA HOT Isn't it interesting that Bill Clinton is wooing both Ashley Judd and Allison Lundergan Grimes to run against Mitch McConnell. If were Senator McConnell, I would much prefer to run against Judd, who is entirely whoopable. Grimes is an impressive campaigner, good with a speech and far more impressive candidate. But still beatable.
