THIS MAMA BEAR HAS ISSUES I have a feeling I am going to get sick to death of the Boston bomber's Mama and her pronouncements of innocence for her sons. If they let this lady back in the country, I'm going to be ticked. Unless it's to face the shoplifting charges she has against her. She is the perfect example of the perpetual victim. And we have anough of those here. And by the way, I'm sorry she lost her son. After a shootout with police. No mother should have to bury her children, no matter how misguided they are. My real question is: can we please stop giving her a forum? Other than Alex Jones, I'm not sure why anyone would want this interview. She's going to bring nothing to the table other than it was the US government picking on her adorable little scamps. I can live without that.
MUSLIM JIHAD TIMELINE Check this if you think the Israel/Palestinians conflict is the problem, you need to check out this quick history of Muslim aggression.
WHAT'S GOTTEN INTO THE C-J? All of sudden the C-J is digging into wasteful spending AND asking Jim Waters for comment! I don't care why, I just care that they are doing it. Maybe they actually want your business back. Good article calling into question expenses by one legislator. And it actually leaves more questions than it answers if you ask me.
WHY IS THE CITY INVOLVED IN THIS DEAL AT ALL? I'm sure there are lots of South End businesses that would love the city to invest 400 to 500,000 bucks shoring up their business. Why is the city involved in this project? Are developers in this city conditioned to sit back and wait for the city gravy train to get fired up before they take a chance on a property? And how does the city get back it's (meaning OUR) money when the project is up and running? I guess I should be a developer. In this town that means money with no risk. Or something.
WANT TO KNOW WHAT A HOT MESS THE RETIREMENT SYSTEM REALLY IS? Check the chart on the left hand side of this story. Without the new scale put in place for employer contributions, the employer contributions necessary in 2032 would be 64.59%!!!! That doesn't leave a whole lot for services. WITH the changes, it ONLY goes to 40.44% in 2032. And now, the businesses which are full of employees who want their pensions are freaking out because they are beginning to realize that the politicians have written checks to future pensioners that these businesses can't cash. This should be fun to watch, especially as all the non-governmental agencies that have been a part of KRS start jumping off this sinking ship like rats.
GOOD THING WE'VE BEEN PUMPING ALL THE CARBON IN THE AIR Russian scientists seem to think we are entering a period of cooling that could last 200 years or so. Apparently, they didn't get the message from the consensus. We're WARMING. Just ask Al Gore. Who right now is trying to figure out how to make another gajillion dollars off this. And the best part about this article? It's on the Global Warming website and blames the decrease on a decrease in solar output. I've been saying this for YEARS.
