BLUEGRASS POLITICS If you are glutton for punishment
IT'S A BLUEGRASS MONDAY WITH JIM WATERS AT 10AM We will discuss what happened at Fancy Farm Saturday and other things terribly wrong in the Commonwealth.
HE TOOK HIS MARBLES AND WENT HOME Fancy Farm took over St. Joe's Parish Saturday and it went as it always does. Interesting twist this year when McConnell and his supporters took their marbles and went home. The unintended consequence was the Matt Bevin as able to get his six minutes relatively unheckled. This is an event whose appeal is completely beyond me. I heard Chuck Todd this morning on MSNBC talking about how much loved this old school barnburner type of politics, but I didn't learn anything new. Alison Lundergan Grimes took the standard shots, but the passing a kidney stone was funny. Click the links to see the speeches in whole.
OUR EMBASSIES CLOSING IS NOT GOOD If there were a way to tell the rest of the world the United States is weak, this is a good one. I think it's fairly obvious that Al Qaeda didn't get the message that the War on Terror is over. This whole things leaves me unsettled and questioning the timing. Last week, CNN busts out with it's big scoop that the CIA was doing something in Benghazi it maybe shouldn't have been (what difference, at this point, does it make?) and two days later, we have the most significant chatter since 9/11 that closes down 19 embassies in hot spots around the world? Call me paranoid, but those two things hardly seem coincidental. If not a wag the dog, then it seems Al Qaeda IS emboldened after it's unanswered victory in Benghazi. They smell blood in the water and our POTUS is chumming. Benghazi happened over a year ago. You're telling me that NO additional security measures have been put in place in this embassies? That's incompetence.
SPELLING...SO OLD FASHIONED An idiotic person who is some sort of professor of something says kids don't need to learn how to spell because of texting and smartphones. Seriously. This is where we are headed.
HERE COMES THE BRIDE...SORRY WE CAN'T MAKE IT This is kind of interesting because we always hear so much about how much a wedding costs. But what about for the guests? I've always been able to swing most weddings, but a lot of times by staying a cheaper hotel then the "wedding" hotel. Have you missed someone's big day because you were broke?
DEMOCRATIC PIG MAYOR GOES TO REHAB In the ongoing Democratic War on Women, Bob Filner is testing the waters to see how rehab works to rehab his image. Question: do you think "intensive behavioral training" for two weeks is enough to change the image of a past middle age horndog who has no respect for the fairer sex?
THIS WOULD BE SO FUNNY IF THEIR STUPIDITY HADN'T RUINED IT FOR THE REST OF US TOO Public worker unions are all frosted about Obamacare. Yes, the bill they supported because their leadership neither read the bill nor has a basic understanding of math. Now they don't like it. Surprise! You shouldn't have taken Nancy Pelosi's word for it, you should've read it's various incarnations yourself, rubes.
THE TEA'S NOT AS WARM AS IT ONCE WAS If the Tea Party turns it's back on former darlings, they darlings have no one to blame but themselves. And the Tea Party has been about holding politicians accountable for their actions from the get go. So this makes perfect sense to me.
