BEING AN AWKWARD ANGST FILLED TEEN JUST GOT HARDER A student in Mass just found out what it's like to be an angry young man in today's America.  After posting stuff on Facebook that most angry young men just wrote on their paper folded book covers years ago, he found himself arrested.  Is this the right action?  Or would some other form of intervention perhaps been effective?

WATCH OUT FOR GLOBAL WARMING...ER...GLOBAL COOLING!  This spring is going to be the 2nd coldest on record.  So buy an SUV and start pumping carbon into the air, stat! 

STRAIGHT FROM THE "WHO DIDN'T SEE THIS COMING" FILE Lindsay Lohan violated her probation by leaving rehab.  I'm taking her in the Death Pool. 

MARCO RUBIO MAKES A HUGE MISSTEP But I guess I should be happy he's at least admitting it and trying to right the ship.  He's know asking for a rewrite on the border security portion of the immigration bill he allegedly negotiated.  I say allegedly, because he was either out trying to sell this bill to conservatives without having a clue what it actually SAID, or he was lying about what was in it.  Either way is not good.  

GAY MARRIAGE DONE RIGHT? New Hampshire legalized gay marriage yesterday.  The legislature wrote a bill that both allowed for gay marriage and protected religious freedom.  See?  It can be done.  Live free or die, indeed.  

MAC DADDY IS DEAD And it's a sad day for all of us fans of the one hit wonder Atlanta duo who just want to Jump.  RIP half of Kriss Kross. 

KENT MASTERSON BROWN TODAY AT 10 With all the bad news coming out about missed deadlines and whatnot about Obamcare, I'm sure our resident expert will have some head exploding stuff. 

MISS AMERICA AT 11!  There are celebrities, and then there is Miss America.  She's in town spreading goodwill and cheer and supporting two local charities that do God's work.  I'll tell you about all the chances you'll have to see and meet her today.

A TRAGIC ACCIDENT THAT BECOMES ABOUT MARKETING Two parents in Burkesville made a terrible error in judgment.  They left a boy's rifle where he could reach it without checking to see if it was unloaded.  And he shot and killed his sister. It's being ruled an accident, but people around the country are already clamoring that these parents should be charged with negligent homicide.  The C-J's entire article is about how the rifle used it marketed for children.  For those asking the parents be charged, is there any punishment worse than knowing your negligence lead to the death of your own child?  I think not.  If they did charge them, whatever the penalty is would pale in comparison to the guilt they will live with forever.  However, if this kid had accidentally shot a neighbor kid, would we be so quick to give them a pass?  I doubt it.  I do think there is an element of  "they will suffer enough" here.  And for the love of Pete, can we please keep firearms out of the reach of children who are unsupervised????

SEATTLE LIVES IN THE WAY BACK MACHINE A peaceful march against capitalism and supporting workers rights made it's way from 1968 onto the streets of downtown Seattle last night, where it converged with hooligans and idiots who just want to break things.  Maybe Seattle should lay off the caffeine. 

THE ENDS JUSTIFY THE MEANS We've seen this time and time again with hard core Leftie activists.  If the appropriate bogeyman doesn't actually appear to prove how racist, sexist, misogynist the other side is, the bogeyman is simply fabricated.  This college girl has made an embarrassment of herself just to prove how awful Republicans are.  Only I'm guessing Republicans probably don't pay attention to her likely over self conscious ramblings anyway.  Of course Dan Rather thinks the story is actually true, even if the evidence was fabricated.

NOW WE'RE GETTING SOMEWHERE Senator Marco Rubio is finally admitting the Gang of 8's Immigration bill stinks on border security.  At least he's admitting it now.  Perhaps we can begin to have a conversation about doing the border FIRST and THEN immigration reform.  And he's right when he says we don't trust Janet Napolitano.  I don't believe anything that dame says.

HEY, THIS IS ALMOST AS MUCH AS OUR YUM CENTER PAYMENT! A judge has ruled the Metro must pay 6.2 million in interest to firefighters on top of all the other money.  I need a question answered though.  How is this accruing at 12 percent interest?  Where do you park money where it accumulates 12 percent?  I want in on that one.  Is that punitive or random or how was that calculated?  Just curious. 

DERBY WEEK PERSPECTIVE ON THE PENSION CRISIS From Phil Moffett:

The 2012 Kentucky Derby had a record handle (total amount bet on the race) of $133.1 million.

If the handle stayed consistent over time and the state taxed the handle at 20% -applying it to the pension deficit - it would take 1,240 years to pay it off. 

If taxed at 100%, it would take 248 years.

THIS POLL MAKES ME CRAZY At first I was surprised but I don't know why I was.  Too many people in this country are "bored" by politics or don't find it interesting and are simply delusional about how much these decisions are going to broadside their lives.  Do me a favor.  When they finally start complaining about Obamacare, please don't hit them in the head with a sledgehammer.  Welcome them to the fight and hand them the number to their Congressman's office.  It's the only way. 

DON'T WATCH THE PRESS CONFERENCES... Just read this spot on analysis, with links and documentation, of how much Obama danced, mislead and flat out lied yesterday.  Of course the people in the poll above won't do either.  Rubes. 

BUT HE SAID DEADLINES WERE BEING MET Don't believe me when I said above that PrezBO LIED?  Check this column on the latest missed deadline.  And this one is a whopper. 

MY 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER CAN'T DRIVE But she can make decisions about her health care without my permission.  She can't get HER EARS PIERCED IN SOME STATES but she can go buy Plan B at a drugstore without my permission.  She can't get an aspirin at the school clinic but she can get Plan B.  Government is undermining the relationship between girls and their mothers.  And I don't like it. 

SHARIA IS JUST ALRIGHT WITH ME  How is this for an interesting quote from a poll of Muslims worldwide:

Muslims were more worried about Islamist militancy than any other form of religious violence. 

But a majority of Muslims believed that sharia should be the law of the land.  The only difference is the degree that it should be instituted.  Although some Muslims were not down with death for apostates, many WERE.  A big majority in Malaysia.  Not exactly heartwarming.
