
College sports has had its fair share of scandal, none more than the Penn State football sex abuse scandal that has rocked Happey Valley. Punishment was harsh from the NCAA and will likely cripple the program for a decade or more. And what makes it harder to swallow is the fact that Penn State had been held up as the gold standard in college football of doing it the right way. Which is an accurate statement, because the program had NEVER been on probation before the penalties were handed down yesterday. But what about the local schools? How clean are the UK, UL, and IU programs? Well, a website called footballgeography.com put together a great website listing all of the occurances of probation for each of the FBS schools. Below are some of the schools of note, both in the Big East and SEC, along with some of the greatest offenders of NCAA rules. The schools are grouped by total number of different cases of probation, along with the total number of years the school has been on probation and total number of years they have been banned from a bowl:
