Charlie will be staying at Louisville, the question is for how long. While Strong expressed remorse for what his wavering put his players through the past few days, he didn't go so far as to say that he would be at Louisville for any certain length of time, or actively avoid this situation in the future.
With coaches contracts about as solid as a cloud these days you have to assume this contract, which makes him one of the highest paid coaches in college football, is just a stop gap measure. He said in his press conference that you can't buy someone's heart. While he also said that his heart is with Louisville right now, I don't think it's any secret that his heart is also with SEC football.
I really believe that Charlie respects his players, appreciates Tom Jurich's trust in him, and believes that Louisville is the best place for him....for now. But if he had to give a program (even an SEC program) that is on sanctions and got only one conference win THAT much thought, his departure, like many Louisville football coaches before him, is just a matter of time. My advice: Enjoy the ride.
