NOTES
* went with Davis over Cal for top spot because many coaches have won titles but few players in history have had the kind of year Davis did. the cumulative achievements and superlatives were unreal.
* Jurich's move to get UofL in the ACC basically ensures the viability of the school's athletic program moving forward. that's a much more important accomplishment than any individual game or season.
* Quick makes the list because in addition to being the best prep football player in the state and the highest-ranked recruit ever to commit to UofL, he won a state basketball title too! pretty impressive combo.
* in addition to all the wins on the track, Romans reportedly lost 50 pounds this year with the help of Pitino. gotta admire that effort.
