It’s a new year and a popular resolution for many is to improve their financial situation. “Now is a great time to take stock of your financial well-being” says Navy Federal Credit Union President and CEO Cutler Dawson. For three years now I’ve been endorsing Navy Federal Credit Union. I put my name behind Navy Federal because I’ve been a member for 15 years.
For nearly 80 years Navy Federal has been serving the military with programs and services tailored to the military lifestyle and not offered to those outside the armed forces. Some of those services include (but aren’t limited to) outstanding free checking accounts and interest rates on auto loans and mortgages. Last year we were a pre-approved for a 2.99% auto loan for our new SUV.
2013 is a good time to map out a smart money strategy that doesn’t involve unnecessary fees and expenses other banks charge their members. For example Navy Federal’s active duty checking account is free and members can earn dividends as well as receive up to $20 in free ATM rebates each month. I don’t know about you, but if I found a $20 bill on the ground at the end of each month, I sure wouldn’t pass it up.
If you (or a family member) is currently serving in the military (even you DoD Contractors) I encourage you to visit navyfederal.org and see for yourself.
Navy Federal is financially solid and federally insured by the NCUA.

- According to the American Gas Association, low domestic natural gas prices have led to savings of almost $250 billion for natural gas customers over the past three years. Additionally, a typical residential customer saved more than $175 during 2010 alone, and the average commercial customer saved more than $1,100 on their 2010 annual bill. According to the latest AGA survey, the United States has the largest storage asset of any country in the world with more than 400 natural gas storage fields. Underground storage reached record levels in November 2011 for the third year in a row. What does AGA's winter fuel outlook mean for our heating bills this winter? Joining Tony is Chris McGill, Vice President Policy Analysis at the American Gas Association
