- Republican senators are accusing President Obama of ignoring requests for information about the Libya terror attack on the American consulate on September 11th. Senators Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, John McCain of Arizona, Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin wrote a letter that readdressed their questions that included when officials first determined it was a terrorist attack. They then wrote that questions not being answered “will only add to the growing perception among many of our constituents that your administration has undertak en a concerted effort to misrepresent the facts and stonewall Congress and the American people.” A Fox News report brought up claims that officers at a nearby CIA annex in the area were told to stand down multiple times when they requested to help those at the consulate. Those claims have been rejected by the CIA and the Defense Department. President Obama did not answer the question directly when asked twice during an interview last week on whether a request for military assistance was denied. Are there deliberate attempts to not answer inquiries into the Libya terror attack? What ramifications could the Senators raising the question of “stonewalling” have?
