It’s a new year and a popular resolution for many is to improve their financial situation. “Now is a great time to take stock of your financial well-being” says Navy Federal Credit Union President and CEO Cutler Dawson. For three years now I’ve been endorsing Navy Federal Credit Union. I put my name behind Navy Federal because I’ve been a member for 15 years.
For nearly 80 years Navy Federal has been serving the military with programs and services tailored to the military lifestyle and not offered to those outside the armed forces. Some of those services include (but aren’t limited to) outstanding free checking accounts and interest rates on auto loans and mortgages. Last year we were a pre-approved for a 2.99% auto loan for our new SUV.
2013 is a good time to map out a smart money strategy that doesn’t involve unnecessary fees and expenses other banks charge their members. For example Navy Federal’s active duty checking account is free and members can earn dividends as well as receive up to $20 in free ATM rebates each month. I don’t know about you, but if I found a $20 bill on the ground at the end of each month, I sure wouldn’t pass it up.
If you (or a family member) is currently serving in the military (even you DoD Contractors) I encourage you to visit navyfederal.org and see for yourself.
Navy Federal is financially solid and federally insured by the NCUA.
After the election, a lot of people are excited that they can now get healthcare. Or maybe not quite yet, but by 2014, when ObamaCare is fully implemented. The only problem is that healthcare is not like an Obama phone. The phones are all made by a standard process in a factory, probably in China, and they usually work. You can use them to call a healthcare provider. But you usually get the “if this is an emergency, hang up and dial 911,” followed by the phone menu. How will this change with ObamaCare? Doesn’t that give you a right to care? Dr. G. Keith Smith is a board certified anesthesiologist in private practice since 1990. In 1997, he co-founded The Surgery Center of Oklahoma, an outpatient surgery center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, owned by 40 of the top physicians and surgeons in central Oklahoma. Dr. Smith serves as the medical director, CEO and managing partner while maintaining an active anesthesia practice. In 2009, Dr. Smith launched a website displaying all-inclusive pricing for various surgical procedures, a move that has gained him and the facility, national and even international attention. Many Canadians and uninsured Americans have been treated at his facility, taking advantage of the low and transparent pricing available. Hey joins to in this two part in interview.
