The Federal Reserve this week confirmed that one of its websites was broken into by cyber hackers. This Wednesday announcement is the latest in a string of high-profile hacking disclosures. This breach reportedly leaked the contact information of thousands of bankers. According to tech website ZDNet, the information was derived from thousands of emergency system bank contacts store by the Federal Reserve. Could there be even more incidents of high-profile hacking? *A handful of House Democrats introduced legislation that would decriminalize marijuana at the federal level and regulate it through a new Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Marijuana and Firearms. They also proposed a separate bill setting a federal tax on what would be a newly legal marijuana industry, to offset the cost of federal regulation. Democrat Congressman Jared Polis of Colorado pointed out that the legislation does not force any state to legalize marijuana, but also said places that have voted for it for medical or recreational use “deserve the certainty of knowing federal agents won’t raid” the businesses.
