Next week, the Kentucky State Senate Licensing and Occupations Committee may hear SB 51 – a bill that eliminates outdated regulations requiring nurse practitioners (NPs) to have prescribing agreements with physicians. If passed, the legislation would remove a key barrier to achieving greater health care access for Kentuckians without any cost to the state. American Airlines and US Airways will be formally announcing their merger today. The deal caps a turbulent half-decade of bankruptcies and consolidation for the U.S. airline industry. The merger will create the world's biggest airline, which will keep the American Airlines name, but will be run by US Airways CEO Doug Parker.
