This week, the average age of cars on the road right now is almost 11 years old. People are keeping there cars longer and that really puts an emphasis on maintaining your car as best as possible. And being able to show those maintenance records when you go to sell your vehicle can greatly increase your chances of selling your vehicle faster.

It’s a new year and a popular resolution for many is to improve their financial situation. “Now is a great time to take stock of your financial well-being” says Navy Federal Credit Union President and CEO Cutler Dawson. For three years now I’ve been endorsing Navy Federal Credit Union. I put my name behind Navy Federal because I’ve been a member for 15 years.
For nearly 80 years Navy Federal has been serving the military with programs and services tailored to the military lifestyle and not offered to those outside the armed forces. Some of those services include (but aren’t limited to) outstanding free checking accounts and interest rates on auto loans and mortgages. Last year we were a pre-approved for a 2.99% auto loan for our new SUV.
2013 is a good time to map out a smart money strategy that doesn’t involve unnecessary fees and expenses other banks charge their members. For example Navy Federal’s active duty checking account is free and members can earn dividends as well as receive up to $20 in free ATM rebates each month. I don’t know about you, but if I found a $20 bill on the ground at the end of each month, I sure wouldn’t pass it up.
If you (or a family member) is currently serving in the military (even you DoD Contractors) I encourage you to visit navyfederal.org and see for yourself.
Navy Federal is financially solid and federally insured by the NCUA.

President Barack Obama will renew his call to reduce the world's nuclear stockpiles during a speech in Berlin today. A senior administration official says Obama will propose cutting the U.S. and Russian stockpiles by up to one-third. That would bring the total number of warheads in each country to about 1,000. Obama is not expected to propose any timeline for achieving those cuts. He discussed nuclear non-proliferation with Russian President Vladimir Putin during their meeting Monday on the sidelines of an international summit in Northern Ireland. CBS News' Peter Bild is in Berlin and visits with Tony.

President Obama, seeking to stem a bloody civil war that has now claimed more than 92,000 lives, has authorized food and medicine for the rebels seeking to oust President Bashar Assad, but had stopped short of military aid. But with U.S. officials confirming Assad's use of chemical weapons against civilians - crossing Obama's "red line" - the White House strongly indicated that weapons are on the way.
